Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Renewable Energy and Climate Change Coordinator to join our Caring for Country – Gobata Dja Team.

Reporting to the Healthy Country Manager, this role will coordinate WTOAC’s renewable energy and climate change projects and build strong relationships with Traditional Owners, government, industry and other stakeholders. You will help shape renewable energy and climate change initiatives that protect Country and support Wadawurrung priorities and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate renewable energy and climate change projects, priorities, budgets and planning.
  • Build and maintain relationships with renewable energy proponents, government, industry and other stakeholders.
  • Support the development and implementation of renewable energy and climate change strategies and initiatives.
  • Coordinate the implementation of WTOAC’s Climate Action Strategy.
  • Support and guide members of the Renewable Energy and Climate Change team.
  • Coordinate engagement and information sharing with Wadawurrung Traditional Owners.
  • Prepare reports, briefs and information for key internal stakeholders.
  • Identify funding opportunities to support renewable energy and climate change projects.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in renewable energy, climate change, sustainability, environmental management, project coordination or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating projects, including planning, budgets, reporting and delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • The ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal people, Communities and Traditional Owners.
  • A current Victorian Driver’s Licence.

Desirable: A relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience working within a Traditional Owner Corporation or Aboriginal organisation.
