About WARRRL
WARRRL (WA Return Recycle Renew) is the Scheme Coordinator for Containers for Change, one of Western Australia’s largest circular economy initiatives.
Working with industry, government and community partners, we help deliver better environmental, social and economic outcomes through the recovery and recycling of beverage containers across the state.
Since the scheme launched, more than 5 billion containers have been diverted from landfill, helping to create a cleaner WA and supporting a statewide network of refund points that provide employment, fundraising and community benefits.
As we continue to evolve and grow, we’re focused on building a more efficient, innovative and sustainable resource recovery network for the future.
Our vision is clear: to create a circular economy for containers that delivers positive environmental and social outcomes for Western Australia.
The Opportunity
As Manager, Resource Recovery & Contracts, you will lead two Contract Managers responsible for the commercial performance, compliance and continued development of WARRRL’s statewide resource recovery network.
You will oversee complex service provider contracts spanning logistics, processing, material recovery facilities and recycling partners, along with the operational management of WARRRL’s recovery infrastructure assets, ensuring strong commercial outcomes, effective stakeholder relationships and continuous improvement across the network.
This role combines people leadership, contract management and strategic problem-solving. You will coach and develop your team, lead contract performance discussions, support procurement and negotiation activities, and work closely with industry partners and government stakeholders to deliver positive environmental and commercial outcomes for Western Australia.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who combines strategic thinking with operational excellence and is passionate about making a meaningful environmental impact.
Success in this role will be driven as much by your ability to lead and develop people as your ability to manage contracts and commercial outcomes.
This is a full-time role based in Subiaco, with travel across Western Australia as required.
About you
You are a proven people leader who enjoys building capability, coaching teams and creating accountability for results.
You bring significant experience managing complex commercial or operational contracts and are confident working with suppliers, contractors and stakeholders to drive performance, resolve issues and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
You can confidently interpret and apply contract terms, assess supplier performance, identify commercial and contractual risks, and determine when issues require escalation or formal action. You are comfortable navigating competing priorities and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
Experience in resource recovery, logistics, waste, recycling, transport, utilities, infrastructure or another complex service delivery environment will be highly regarded.
What you will bring:

- Proven experience leading, coaching and developing a team.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and managing complex commercial or operational contracts.
- Strong supplier and contractor management capability, including monitoring performance, managing issues and driving accountability.

- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including confidence navigating challenging conversations.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving capability, with experience using performance data to inform decisions.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, governance and compliance.
- A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel within Western Australia.
