Description
About WARRRL
WARRRL (WA Return Recycle Renew) is the Scheme Coordinator for Containers for Change, one of Western Australia’s largest circular economy initiatives.
Working with industry, government and community partners, we help deliver better environmental, social and economic outcomes through the recovery and recycling of beverage containers across the state.
Since the scheme launched, more than 5.7 billion containers have been diverted from landfill, helping to create a cleaner WA and supporting a statewide network of refund points that provide employment, fundraising and community benefits.
As we continue to evolve and grow, we’re focused on building a more efficient, innovative and sustainable resource recovery network for the future.
Our vision is clear: to create a circular economy for containers that delivers positive environmental and social outcomes for Western Australia.
The Opportunity
As Finance Business Partner, you will provide financial insight, reporting and support to help WARRRL make informed, commercially sound decisions.
You will lead key financial planning and reporting activities, including month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and balance sheet reconciliations. Working closely with leaders across the organisation, you will monitor financial performance, provide practical advice and support effective management of departmental budgets and forecasts.
This role combines strong technical finance capability with commercial thinking and stakeholder engagement. You will translate financial information into clear, meaningful insights, identify opportunities to improve processes and data accuracy, and support WARRRL to meet its financial, governance and compliance obligations.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working collaboratively across an organisation and influencing decisions through trusted advice and high-quality analysis.
Success in this role will be driven as much by your ability to build trusted relationships and communicate financial insights as your technical finance capability.
This is a full-time role based in Subiaco.
About you
You are a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with leaders to improve financial understanding and support better decision-making.
You bring several years of experience in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis or a similar finance partnering role. You have strong analytical and financial modelling capability, advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems or data visualisation tools. You are proactive, organised and comfortable balancing recurring reporting requirements with emerging business priorities.
Importantly, you are an effective communicator who builds credibility quickly, works collaboratively and can constructively challenge and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
What you will bring
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, commerce or a related field.
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Several years of corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, management accounting or finance business partnering experience.
- Demonstrated experience preparing budgets, forecasts, financial models and management reports.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and/or data visualisation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capability.
- The ability to build trusted relationships and influence without direct authority.
- Experience identifying and implementing finance process improvements.
- A sound understanding of financial governance, controls and compliance obligations.
