We’re looking for a Network Engineering Lead to join our Technology Team for a 6-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will serve as the technical thought leader and engineering manager who guides a team of Network Engineers in designing, building, and automating high-performance cloud networks, ensuring all network outcomes are delivered as version-controlled, automated code. This position bridges the gap between technical design and technical execution, driving the successful delivery of complex network engineering projects while fostering a collaborative, values driven team environment.

Operating as a remote, offshore position based in the Philippines, this role offers a unique opportunity to engineer secure, cutting-edge cloud technologies that safeguard Australia’s most sensitive infrastructure.
You will:
- Lead and manage a team of network engineers.
- Govern technical designs, enforce standards through mandatory infrastructure peer-code reviews.
- Implement core cloud solutions and run fast paced Proof-of-Concepts for emerging tech.
- Optimise agile delivery: Deconstruct initiatives into epics, provide estimations, and align sprints with release trains.
- Orchestrate squad resources: Monitor deliverables against SLAs/SLOs and dynamically allocate talent across product frameworks.
To be successful you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Proven engineering leadership: background building, mentoring, and holding high-performing engineering squads accountable on complex projects.
- Extensive cloud experience: background in designing, architecting, and deploying hybrid or private cloud infrastructure.
- Core networking mastery: Advanced, hands-on knowledge of datacenter fabrics (EVPN/VXLAN, Cumulus Linux), ISP routing, and security appliances..
- Expert IaC automation: Practical experience deploying robust network and firewall solutions using infrastructure tools like Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Strong systems thinking to translate business requirements across product, operations, and architecture teams using SDLC frameworks.
- Offshore Requirement: Must be currently living and working in the Philippines for the duration of the 6-month contract.
