Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager – Electrical

We’re looking for an electrically-minded Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager to lead delivery on the electrical elements of our civil and utility infrastructure projects – from switchboards and HV/LV cabling through to transformers and substation works. This is a newly created focus area for Vaughan as we build in-house electrical capability across a growing pipeline of complex projects, including work with Defence.

What you’ll be doing

• Take ownership of electrical packages across Vaughan’s civil and utility infrastructure projects, from design coordination through to construction, testing and handover
• Manage and coordinate electrical subcontractors to hit safety, quality, commercial and programme targets
• Provide technical oversight of HV and LV systems, switchboards, transformers and associated electrical infrastructure
• Review electrical designs and drawings, identify constructability opportunities and flag risks early
• Ensure works are delivered in line with Endeavour Energy and Ausgrid specifications and standards
• Coordinate interfaces between electrical, civil and other project disciplines
• Monitor project performance and contribute to programme, cost, quality and client reporting
• Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams

What you bring

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (equivalent trade/technical background with strong electrical project experience also considered)
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager on projects with a genuine electrical component
• Solid working knowledge of HV/LV distribution, switchboards, transformers and critical electrical infrastructure
• Familiarity with Endeavour Energy and/or Ausgrid specifications highly regarded
• A contractor-side delivery background – you’ve helped build it, not just specified or overseen it from the client side
• Experience coordinating subcontractors across multiple stakeholder interfaces
• Strong communication, planning, commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
• Confidence reviewing electrical drawings and calling constructability and risk issues early
