About the opportunity  

Unison Solar Energy is strengthening its production quality capability to support the next phase of our growth. We are recruiting a Production Quality Supervisor to lead our production inspection teams and ensure consistent quality control.

Reporting to the Head of Quality, the role leads Pre-Lamination, Post-Lamination and inspection teams, coordinating inspection activities, product-status control, defect containment and escalation. The role partners with Manufacturing, Process Quality, Process Engineering and Equipment Engineering to address quality issues, build inspector capability and support continuous improvement.

This is an opportunity to lead a high-performing quality team and play a key role in delivering reliable, high-quality solar products through production, trial builds and ramp-up.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily inspection activities, quality meetings, cross-shift communication and handover of quality issues.
• Review inspection results and manage suspect and nonconforming product to ensure consistent defect identification and product-status control.
• Train, coach and qualify inspectors to strengthen capability, inspection consistency and team performance.
• Monitor quality performance, defect trends and recurring issues, supporting root-cause analysis, MRB, 8D/CAPA and defect-reduction initiatives.
• Maintain inspection stations, equipment, reference samples, quality records, traceability and data.
• Support trial production, new product introduction, inspection readiness and production ramp-up activities.

What you will bring 

• A diploma or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in manufacturing quality or inspection, including supervisory or team-lead experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Sound knowledge of NCR/MRB, root-cause analysis, 8D/CAPA, corrective action, defect trending and structured quality-improvement methodologies such as Lean/Six Sigma.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with other key stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and a consistent approach to applying inspection standards, acceptance criteria, and quality procedures.
• Experience supporting trial production, new product introduction, inspection-station readiness, new-factory start-up or production ramp-up activities.
• Strong capability in maintaining inspection equipment, quality records, traceability and data integrity.
