About the opportunity
Unison Solar Energy is building its capabilities in Australian solar manufacturing and is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our growing manufacturing operations.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to play a key part in delivering safe, efficient and reliable production performance across the manufacturing facility. Working closely with key stakeholders, you’ll drive performance, optimise resources and ensure production targets are consistently achieved.

Production Leadership: Drive safe, efficient and reliable manufacturing operations across stringing, lay-up, lamination, framing, curing, EL testing and packaging.
Manufacturing Excellence: Champion efficient, reliable processes that optimise performance and deliver on quality.
People & Reliability: Lead high-performing teams and collaborate with key stakeholders to improve capability, equipment reliability and production output.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day production operations, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient manufacturing.
- Establish and maintain effective production systems, SOPs and work instructions
- Ensure production targets are achieved across output, quality, cost and delivery.
- Develop production plans aligned with materials, workforce, equipment and customer requirements.
- Monitor production data and KPIs to identify gaps, constraints and improvement opportunities.
- Monitor material availability, resolve supply constraints.
- Champion production safety through risk assessments, training, inspections and proactive hazard management.

What you will bring
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent manufacturing-related discipline
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- 8+ years’ experience across end-to-end manufacturing operations, with 3+ years in a Production Manager or senior production leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large production teams of 40–50+ employees and develop frontline supervisors and future leaders.
- Strong understanding of production planning, KPI management, OEE, data analysis and manufacturing performance improvement.
- Proven experience leading automated manufacturing operations, ideally within solar, renewable energy or energy storage environments.
- Strong knowledge of solar module manufacturing processes, equipment, troubleshooting, quality control and defect root-cause analysis.
- Practical experience managing production budgets, labour and material costs, energy consumption and scrap reduction initiatives.
- Strong analytical capability, with proficiency in Excel, production data analysis and manufacturing KPI reporting.
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies, with a focus on efficiency, waste reduction and process reliability.
- Experience with MES implementation, smart manufacturing initiatives and production dashboard development.
