Tullawon Health Service is seeking a motivated and compassionate Trainee Personal Care Assistant to join our growing Aged Care and NDIS team. About the Role
As a Trainee Personal Care Assistant, you will work alongside experienced support staff while undertaking formal training. You will learn valuable skills across aged care, disability support, home care, respite services, community participation, and client wellbeing.
You Will Learn To:
- Support clients with personal care, including grooming, dressing, mobility, and daily living activities.
- Assist with community participation, social activities, and cultural events.
- Provide domestic assistance and support with household tasks.
- Support the operation of our Day Centre and respite programs.
- Assist with client transport services and appointments.
- Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
- Work within aged care and NDIS service environments.
- Deliver culturally safe, person-centred support to clients and families.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- A genuine interest in aged care, disability support, or community services.
- Willingness to undertake and complete a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) or similar qualification.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
- Reliable, motivated, and able to work as part of a team.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Current unrestricted Driver’s Licence.
Desirable
- Experience caring for family members, volunteering, community involvement, or work placement experience.
- Knowledge of the local community.
- Ability to speak or understand Pitjantjatjara.

Employment Conditions

- Classification: Direct Care Level 1 under the Aged Care Award.
