About this Expression of Interest
We are inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified Nurse Practitioners seeking future opportunities across our five clinic locations: Windsor, Cairns, Rockhampton, Toowoomba and Ipswich.
This EOI process will help us build a talent pool for future casual, permanent and fixed-term opportunities as they arise.
About the role
As a Nurse Practitioner at True, you will provide specialised, high-quality sexual and reproductive healthcare both autonomously and in collaboration with multidisciplinary health professionals.
Using advanced clinical skills, you will assess, diagnose, and manage client care, including prescribing medications, making referrals, and interpreting diagnostic results in accordance with True’s clinical practice guidelines.
The Nurse Practitioner plays an important role in improving community access to sexual and reproductive health services while delivering safe, evidence-based, and client-centred care.
Beyond direct clinical care, you will contribute to service coordination, staff education, policy development, quality improvement, and evidence-based research initiatives that support continuous improvement across our clinical services.
In this rewarding role you will:
- Participate in the planning and delivery of in-service programs as required
- Contribute to the review process of policies, procedures, quality activities and participate in research projects
- Provide clinical training and supervision to health professionals
- Help foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for clients and colleagues
- Uphold professional standards and work within safeguarding frameworks for children and vulnerable adults
- Provide services in the areas including:
o cervical screening, STI screening and treatment, pelvic examination, breast examination and teaching Breast Self-Examination (BSE).
o pathology and diagnostic requests, referral and review
o education in regarding STI’s & blood borne viruses (BBV’s) and safer sexual practices
o provides information and education on contraceptive options
o obtains, prescribe, administer or supply controlled or restricted drugs in accordance with True’s CPG
What we’re looking for
You’re a compassionate and motivated nurse practitioner with a commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare and improving access to sexual and reproductive health services.
You will bring:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Nurse Practitioner endorsement
- Family Planning Alliance Australia (FPAA) training or equivalent or willingness to obtain within a designated time frame.
- Ability to teach and mentor staff and health professionals in the clinical setting.
- Completion of a postgraduate sexual and reproductive health education program or willingness to undertake.
- Demonstrated experience in a comparable clinical role, including work with:
o Client management systems
o Medicare
o Client consults
o IUD and Implanon insertion
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, negotiate, problem solve and resolve conflict.
- Commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
