About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced and highly capable Support Workers to join our team supporting a participant with complex and high-intensity support needs.
This is an opportunity to work with a high-care participant requiring specialised support, clinical awareness and strong attention to safety and wellbeing. We are looking for confident, proactive and reliable support workers who can remain engaged, alert and responsive throughout each shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support to a participant with complex care needs
- Implement support strategies in accordance with care plans and risk management plans
- Monitor participant wellbeing and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Support daily living activities whilst promoting independence and choice
- Administer medications in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
- Complete accurate documentation and progress notes
- Maintain a safe, respectful and supportive environment
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or equivalent
- Previous experience supporting participants with complex or high-intensity needs
- Experience supporting individuals with severe dysphagia
- Current Choking First Aid competency
- Experience with suctioning procedures
- Experience administering medications via NJ Feeding Tube
- Strong understanding of aspiration risks and preventative strategies
- Experience implementing complex care plans and following clinical instructions
- Confidence working independently and making sound decisions
- Ability to remain alert, engaged and responsive during active shifts
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Flexible to work across weekdays, weekends and active night shifts
Available Shifts
- Active Night Shifts: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Morning Shifts: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Day Shifts: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- 7-day rotating roster
- Immediate start available
