Description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

In a multidisciplinary team environment, the Enrolled Nurse provides safe, patient centred and effective care for patients with acute medical and surgical disorders as well as supporting consumers in aged care facilities and receiving community services in accordance with the relevant legislation, an organisations policies and procedures and professional standards of practice. The Enrolled Nurse

will at all times comply with the core values of the TripleCN – Nursing Agency and those of the organisation in which they work.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • In consultation with a Registered Nurse, provides high quality nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation using best practice principles as part of a collaborative partnership with consumers, families, the multidisciplinary team and other key stakeholders.
  • Acts as an advocate for the specific needs of all consumers including those from an indigenous population or other multicultural groups.
  • Provides appropriate generalist and specialist education, health promotion and prevention relating to nursing issues, for nursing students, colleagues, consumers, families and other interested groups or individuals to enhance understanding and knowledge about relevant illness and disease processes.
  • Maintains accurate documentation in consumer clinical records, either written or electronic, in accordance with TripleCN Nursing Agency Consumer Case Note Policy and Procedure Policy, NSW Health Guidelines and the relevant hospital or aged care facilities and community services policies and procedures.
  • Attends and participates in unit in-service if available whilst on duty.
  • Continually evaluates and maintains current generalist and specialist knowledge and skills related to nursing practice and the ANCI competencies. Consistently maintain and further his/her clinical knowledge and mandatory competencies to ensure professional patient/resident/client care and AHPRA registration through ongoing education, participation in appropriate groups and associations and training.
  • Continually develops and maintains nursing standards and consumer services at a level which ensures consumer and staff safety and quality care in keeping with the philosophy and mission statement of TripleCN – Nursing Agency.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing).
  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution strategies and assertiveness
  • Proven ability to work as an effective, responsible and positive team member.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage his/her workload.
  • Ability to apply learned knowledge to the field of practice.
  • Willingness to act and perform with integrity and in the best interest of TripleCN and the facility you are working for.
  • Compliant with National Criminal Record and Working with Children Background checks.
  • Compliant with NDIS Worker Check – mandatory if wanting to work in Aged Care
  • Right to Work in Australia
  • Compliant with Immunisations such as Covid 1st & 2nd, Annual Flu Vaccination, Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR), Varicella (Chickenpox) and Diphtheria, Tetanus Pertussis (dTpa)

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Speciality areas with certification will be highly regarded, i.e.: Cardiac, Disability and Mental Health
  • Knowledge of ACFI documentation
  • Computer skills
