- 3–5 years AI/LLM engineering with shipped and maintained production AI systems.
- Experience building LLM apps such as agentic workflows, RAG, or intelligent document processing.
- Working knowledge of AWS plus security fundamentals for authentication, authorisation and sensitive data.
Role Type
Description
At Trilogy Care, we’re on a mission to empower older Australians to live independently in the home they love for longer.
Technology plays a huge part in making that possible. We use AI, automation and modern data platforms to help coordinate funding, services and providers — and we’re now taking that capability even further.
We’re looking for a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to join our Digital – Intelligence team and work directly with our People & Culture function, solving real business problems with AI.
This isn’t a role where you’ll spend your days building prototypes that never leave the lab.
You’ll sit alongside the people running recruitment, onboarding, payroll and workforce compliance. You’ll understand how their work actually happens, identify opportunities, build the solution, put it into production and measure whether it genuinely made a difference.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll own the journey from problem → solution → production → measurable outcome.
- Work directly with People & Culture teams to understand processes, systems and pain points
- Identify opportunities where AI, automation or better data can remove manual work, risk or delays
- Design and build production AI solutions including agentic workflows, RAG, intelligent document processing, conversational assistants and automation
- Own the full delivery lifecycle — discovery, design, development, testing, deployment and iteration
- Integrate AI solutions with platforms including Employment Hero, Microsoft 365, Zoho, MYOB, Xero and internal systems
- Build using APIs, webhooks, event-driven architecture and MCP tools
- Work with our AWS and Databricks foundations rather than reinventing them
- Measure the impact of what you build through metrics such as time saved, errors reduced, cycle time and adoption
- Work directly with end users to iterate, improve and embed solutions into everyday workflows
- Train and support non-technical teams so adoption becomes part of the delivery
- Bring reusable AI patterns, tools and learnings back to the wider Intelligence team
What makes this role different?
You’re not waiting for requirements to land in a ticket.
You’ll be embedded in the business, finding the problems yourself and deciding what is worth solving.
You’ll be your own business analyst, product manager and delivery lead, with the autonomy to take an ambiguous problem and turn it into something people actually use.
Your home base will be our AI engineering team, reporting to the Head of Intelligence, but your work will take you directly into different areas of the business as priorities evolve.
Our AI environment is Anthropic/Claude-native, with a strong focus on tool use, agentic patterns and practical production applications.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for an engineer who combines strong AI engineering capability with curiosity, commercial thinking and excellent communication.
You’ll bring:
- 3–5 years’ experience in AI/LLM engineering, with production systems you’ve actually shipped and maintained
- Strong Python skills; TypeScript/Node.js experience is valued
- Experience building LLM applications, agentic workflows, RAG, intelligent document processing or similar
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders or clients
- Strong discovery and process-mapping skills — you can identify the real problem, not just take a requirements list
- Experience with production software engineering practices including Git, testing, CI/CD and debugging
- Working knowledge of AWS, particularly services such as Lambda, ECS, S3, API Gateway and IAM
- A strong understanding of security, authentication, authorisation and protecting sensitive data
- The ability to work independently and take ownership from discovery through to production
- The ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
It would be great if you also have
- Experience with Employment Hero, payroll, recruitment or HR workflows
- Healthcare, aged care or other regulated-industry experience
- Production experience with voice AI or intelligent document processing
- Experience building MCP tools or agent skills
- React/Next.js experience
- Databricks or data lakehouse experience
- Change management, training or enablement experience
- Consulting, pre-sales or agency experience
- AWS or AI/ML certifications
- Open-source contributions, publications or AI side projects
Why Trilogy Care?
At Trilogy Care, we’re not simply adding AI to an existing way of working. We’re using technology to rethink how aged care operates.
AI doesn’t replace the human touch — it enables it.
By removing repetitive work and making information easier to access, we’re giving our people more time to focus on what matters: supporting people and delivering better outcomes.
You’ll join a growing, highly autonomous technology environment where experimentation is encouraged, ideas move quickly and the work you build can have a direct impact across the organisation.
If you want to build AI that people actually use — not just talk about — we’d love to hear from you.
