Description

Sales Representative – Black Hops Brewing

1 x Gold Coast | 1 x Brisbane, Queensland | Full Time

Great beer. Great people. A territory you’re proud to grow.

Born on the Gold Coast, Black Hops is about good beer and bringing people together. Our passion for brewing, welcoming hospitality and connection with our community sits at the heart of who we are.

From the fridge at your local bottle shop to the taps at your favourite pub, our beer connects us with people across South-East Queensland. Our sales team helps those connections grow, one customer and one great conversation at a time.

We’re looking for a Sales Representative to own a territory across the Gold Coast and Brisbane. You’ll grow our presence in retail and hospitality, build lasting customer relationships and help shape what comes next.

The opportunity

Two roles one based in Brisbane and one based on the Gold Coast reporting to the Black Hops General Manager, you’ll take ownership of your territory, growing profitable sales of packaged and draught beer into bottle shops, retail groups, pubs, bars, restaurants and clubs.

You’ll balance looking after existing customers with winning new business, turning our sales and brand strategy into daily action. From securing a new tap to helping a retailer build its range, you’ll bring the joy of craft beer to every customer conversation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Owning your territory: Plan customer visits and call cycles, manage your pipeline and deliver agreed sales, margin, distribution and retention targets.
  • Winning new business: Find new customers, present our range and secure packaged beer listings, shelf and fridge space, and draught tap placements.
  • Building lasting relationships: Grow existing accounts through repeat orders, new releases and range development, negotiating within approved pricing and trading terms.
  • Delivering a reliable experience: Work with customer service, logistics and finance to resolve order and delivery concerns, support stock rotation and follow up account issues.
  • Bringing the brand to life: Coordinate approved tastings, customer staff training, tap takeovers and promotions, and support merchandising and point-of-sale displays.
  • Knowing your numbers: Keep CRM records current, report on sales and pipeline progress, forecast demand and manage samples and promotional spend within budget.
  • Working together and safely: Share customer and market insights with the wider team, follow responsible service requirements and use safe driving and travel practices.

What you’ll bring

You’re good with people, comfortable starting a conversation and reliable when it comes to following through. You enjoy being out in the market, can spot an opportunity and know that strong relationships and commercial discipline go hand in hand.

You’ll also bring:

  • Field sales or account management experience, with evidence of winning business and growing existing accounts.
  • Strong relationship-building, prospecting, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Commercial judgement, territory planning skills and confidence using CRM systems, sales reports and forecasts.
  • The organisation and self-motivation to work independently, alongside a responsive approach to customer service.
  • An interest in craft beer and enthusiasm for sharing its story. Beverage, FMCG, liquor retail or hospitality sales experience and local market knowledge are desirable.
  • A current driver licence and ability to travel regularly across the Gold Coast and Brisbane, with availability for agreed events and occasional evening or weekend activity.
  • Appropriate RSA certification for tasting and event duties. A relevant sales, business or marketing qualification is desirable.

Why Black Hops

This is an opportunity to make your mark with a distinctive Gold Coast beer brand and build connections across a territory with plenty of variety.

We want someone who shares our passion for good beer and brings fresh ideas for growing the brand—someone who cares about our customers, follows through on commitments and takes pride in delivering results.

We welcome people from different backgrounds and value the experience, perspectives and ideas they bring.
