About the Role

As a Product Designer, you’ll own the design and desirability of features delivered by your assigned squad, working closely with Product Managers and Engineers. Our product is used in complex, high-stakes environment, so the work demands clarity and confidence as much as usability.

You’ll work alongside a design team of five designers and report to the Design Lead. If you are motivated by complex problems and want your work to make a tangible difference to the people who rely on it, this role offers the opportunity to do both.

What You’ll Do

• Design intuitive, user-centered experiences that help users navigate complex, data-heavy environments and help customer organisations achieve their goals.
• Work in assigned squads with Product Managers, Engineers and Scrum Masters, from discovery through to delivery and release.
• Conduct customer research, usability testing and data analysis to inform design decisions and product direction.
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to uncover problems, define requirements and shape solutions.
• Turn ideas into wireframes and prototypes, test them early, and refine them with stakeholders and real users.
• Balance speed with the rigour that complex, high-stakes products need, and keep your team and stakeholders aligned along the way.
• Contribute to our design system and ways of working to help raise the standard of design across the team and organisation.

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary qualification in Human Computer Interaction, Digital Media Design, Product Design, Interaction Design or a related discipline.
• 2-4 years’ experience designing and shipping digital products, ideally in enterprise SaaS or highly technical environments.
• Strong Figma (or equivalent) skills for design and prototyping, with experience working with design systems.
• Ability to translate customer needs, business objectives and technical requirements into clear design solutions and explain design trade-offs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable working in technical domains and discussing system and technical constraints with Engineers.
• Experience facilitating workshops and engaging stakeholders to uncover problems and shape solutions.
• Clear written and verbal communication with Engineers, Product Managers and stakeholders.
• Ability to take ownership, manage priorities and raise risks early.

It would be great if you also have…

• Experience in transport, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) or other complex operational industries.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence or similar tools.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG-informed design).
• Experience using AI tools in design workflows.
