Description

Plant Operator and Labourer (Tallangatta)

  • $67,848 to $72,077 per annum plus superannuation
  • Fortnightly RDO
  • Additional purchased leave available

What you can expect

  • Work collaboratively and respectfully with colleagues, contractors and Councillors, demonstrating Council’s values in your day-to-day work.
  • Contribute to hands-on construction and maintenance activities that keep Council’s roads and community infrastructure operating effectively.
  • Safely and efficiently operate and maintain Council tools, plant and equipment, including daily checks and prompt reporting of faults.
  • Complete timesheets, plant usage, safety and compliance records accurately and on time.
  • Bring a practical approach to innovation, technology and sustainability, and contribute to ongoing team and organisational improvement.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in Council or similar infrastructure construction and maintenance, along with a relevant Certificate III or one to two years of practical on-the-job training.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate appropriately with staff and members of the public.
  • Ability to work as an effective team member aligning to Councils value and behaviours.
  • Experience in safe and competent operation and driving of Heavy Vehicles, Mechanical Plant and Equipment with a Current Class C Driver’s license with HR Class license, highly regarded.
  • Full Australian Working Rights, Class C Drivers Licence and, as needed, the ability to gain a Working with Children Check.
