Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician – Brisbane & Brisbane South, QLD

The opportunity 

We’re looking for a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician to service, maintain and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration plant across commercial towers, hospitals, schools, government buildings, retail centres and industrial sites in Brisbane and Brisbane’s southern suburbs, including Logan and the Redlands. Hot, humid summers and storm season keep building services working hard.

You’re trusted to run your own jobs, backed by a local team that has your back, and paid properly for the hours you put in. Work is across Brisbane and Brisbane South, with your runs planned to keep travel time reasonable and occasional paid regional travel.

What you’ll be doing

• Service, fault-find and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration plant
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance against site asset registers
• Install, commission and decommission split, ducted and VRF systems
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and controls faults, and fix them on the first visit where possible
• Complete service reports, photos and asset data through our mobile platform
• Work with the dispatch team to plan your day and keep clients informed

What you’ll bring

• Cert III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or equivalent
• Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence
• QBCC Mechanical Services – Air-conditioning and Refrigeration occupational licence (or eligibility to obtain)
• Current driver’s licence
• Confidence working on your own across commercial sites

Bonus points for

• QLD restricted electrical licence
• EWP, working at heights or confined space tickets
• Experience fault-finding BMS and controls
• Refrigeration experience on cool rooms, freezer rooms or process cooling

Respiratory protection requirements

• Respirator fit testing may be required, depending on the duties and exposure risks of the task.
• Where a tight-fitting respirator is required, you must be clean-shaven where the respirator seals against your face. Some facial hair styles, such as a neatly trimmed moustache, may still be suitable.
