The opportunity

We’re looking for an HVAC & Electrical Supervisor to lead our Brisbane field team, servicing commercial towers, hospitals, schools, government buildings and retail centres across Brisbane and South East Queensland. Hot, humid summers and storm season keep building services working hard, and you’ll make sure our team delivers safely, on time and to a high standard.

You’ll be the link between the field, the dispatch team and our clients. You’ll support your technicians, step in on complex faults, and keep work compliant and running smoothly. Work is mainly across Brisbane and South East Queensland, with occasional paid regional travel.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supervise, support and coordinate a team of HVAC and electrical technicians and apprentices
  • Work with the dispatch team to plan and prioritise reactive, planned maintenance and minor project work
  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex HVAC, refrigeration, electrical and controls faults
  • Lead safety on site, including SWMS reviews, site inspections, toolbox talks and incident follow-up
  • Carry out quality checks on completed work, service reports, compliance certificates and asset data
  • Make sure your team’s licences, tickets, inductions and respirator fit testing stay current
  • Build strong relationships with clients and facility managers, and resolve service issues quickly
  • Scope defects and minor works, and support quoting for rectification works
  • Onboard, coach and develop technicians and apprentices
  • Step into hands-on service work when the team needs it

What you’ll bring

  • A trade qualification in Electrotechnology (Electrician) or Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
  • A current QLD Electrical Worker Licence (Electrical Mechanic), or a QLD restricted electrical licence plus a full ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence
  • At least 2 years’ experience supervising or leading technicians in commercial HVAC and/or electrical services
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC, refrigeration and electrical systems
  • Current Construction White Card
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills

Bonus points for

  • A dual trade, or experience across both HVAC and electrical services
  • QBCC Mechanical Services – Air-conditioning and Refrigeration occupational licence
  • Cert IV in Leadership and Management, or Cert IV in Work Health and Safety
  • BMS and controls experience
  • EWP, working at heights or confined space tickets
  • Experience in health, education or government facilities

Respiratory protection requirements

  • Respirator fit testing may be required, depending on the duties and exposure risks of the task.
  • Where a tight-fitting respirator is required, you must be clean-shaven where the respirator seals against your face. Some facial hair styles, such as a neatly trimmed moustache, may still be suitable.
