About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to join our Family Violence Services team within Therapeutic Services.
This role provides specialist case management and risk assessment support to LGBTIQ+ adults using family violence, with the primary goal of increasing safety for victim-survivors and supporting meaningful behaviour change.
Working as part of a specialist and supportive team, you will provide comprehensive family violence risk assessments, case management, intervention planning and safety planning, while contributing to integrated and collaborative responses across the family violence sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive family violence risk assessments for prospective Men’s Behaviour Change Program participants and LGBTIQ+ people who have used violence.
- Provide specialist case management to LGBTIQ+ adults using family violence to increase safety for victim-survivors.
- Undertake ongoing risk assessment, intervention planning and safety planning in collaboration with family safety contact workers.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure timely data collection and reporting.
- Work within the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme, Child Information Sharing Scheme and relevant legislative frameworks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders and community partners.
About you
You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling or a related discipline, as well as:
- Compliance with the Minimum Qualification Requirements for Family Violence Workers set by Family Safety Victoria, including a Graduate Certificate in Client Assessment and Case Management (or higher) and Facilitator or Principal Facilitator status in Men’s Behaviour Change Program facilitation.
- Completion of MARAM Comprehensive Risk Assessment training.
- Demonstrated experience in family violence risk assessment, case management, safety planning and intervention planning.
- Experience delivering Men’s Behaviour Change Programs and/or working therapeutically with people using family violence.
- Strong communication, administration and data reporting skills.
- A commitment to working respectfully and inclusively with LGBTIQ+ communities and people living with HIV
