Thomas Scaffolding is looking for an experienced Leading Hand Scaffolder to join our Forster team. We’re looking for a leader who takes ownership on site, keeps their crew moving safely, and sets the standard every day.

We also offer attractive travel incentives to complete work between our Coffs Harbour, Tamworth and Forster branches. This may include up to 4 nights away from your usual base location, between Monday – Friday.

The Role

Reporting to the Area Supervisor, you’ll lead site crews on site while staying hands-on with scaffold erection, modification, and dismantling.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise scaffolders and labourers – allocate tasks and keep work moving safely and efficiently
  • Run pre-starts, enforce PPE and SWMS, and report hazards promptly
  • Coordinate with supervisors and yard teams to keep materials and resources on track
  • Inspect scaffolds, manage tagging and documentation, and ensure handover compliance
  • Maintain accurate site paperwork
  • Coach and develop your crew – help build the next generation of site leaders
  • Lead by example – model a safe, productive, and respectful team culture

What We’re Looking For

  • Advanced Scaffolding Licence (High Risk Work Licence)
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Current White Card
  • 3–5 years’ scaffolding experience, with Leading Hand or supervisory background
  • Able to read scaffold drawings and interpret project scopes
  • Calm under pressure, reliable, and accountable for your team’s performance and safety
