Position Summary:
We are seeking highly motivated Full-Time Graduate Accountant to join our Client Care Team based at our head office at our West Perth office. Reporting to the Client Care Team Leader and Manager, you will support the team in delivering accurate and timely client outcomes – from preparing tax returns and managing client tax documentation to liaising with the ATO and assisting with SMSF compliance. You will also play a role in supervising and training student interns. This is a great opportunity for a recent accounting graduate to build hands-on technical experience across tax, compliance and client service within a supportive team environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and lodgement of BAS and Tax Returns for Individuals, Companies, Trusts, and Partnerships using Xero.
- Assist with Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) compliance, including lodgements through BGL CAS 360.
- Contact the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on behalf of clients via phone and the ATO Portal, including managing client records and responding to correspondence.
- Support ATO-related administrative tasks such as fund transfer requests and lodgement extension applications.
- Receive, review, scan and save client tax documentation, following standard naming and filing protocols.
- Submit receipts and invoices via Spark Receipt, Dext and Hubdoc.
- Manage job status and notes in Xero Practice Manager.
- Liaise with clients to gather information and with internal Accounting Teams to resolve queries.
- Actively participate in daily Team 10@10 meetings and the weekly Client Care Pipeline Meeting.
- Contribute to the training and mentoring of new interns to support team development.
- Follow AAG’s documented processes to ensure work is completed to a consistent standard.
- Undertake regular training to maintain and build your technical taxation knowledge.
Team Meetings:
- Actively participate in the team’s weekly Pipeline Meeting and attend to allocated tasks;
- Actively participate in the team’s daily Team 10@10 Meetings to ascertain tasks to be completed that day, follow through on tasks outstanding from the previous business day and know what other Team Members are doing.
