Team Leader Christchurch

Are you passionate about the outdoors and ready to lead a team in creating and maintaining beautiful landscapes across Christchurch? The Plant People Ltd is looking for an experienced Landscape Maintenance Team Leader to join our vibrant crew and help shape green spaces that make a difference.

What You’ll Bring:

We’re looking for someone who’s not just skilled but also driven to lead and grow with us. You’ll ideally have:

• At least 5+ years’ experience in horticulture and landscaping
• Very good plant knowledge identification
• At least 5+ years’ experience running a team
• The ability to read and interpret plans
• Proven experience leading small teams
• A full Class 1 NZ driver’s licence minimum Class 2 preferred. (Manual)
• Strong communication skills
• Confidence using mobile apps and reporting tools
• Able to produce clear daily/monthly reports so these are sent to the clients

What You’ll Do:

Your work will span a variety of sites—from revegetation and stream restoration to street gardens and raingardens plus more as we carry out an array of variation work. You’ll be hands-on and lead by example, with duties including:

• Mowing, edging, pruning, scrub clearing, and hedge trimming
• Manual and chemical weeding
• Pest and weed identification
• Garden enhancement : prepping, planting., mulching, staking
• Manage your own sites and a team 2 to 5
• Being the go-to person for clients and resolving on-site issues
