Description

We are seeking an experienced Manager – Assistive Technology & Home Modifications (AT-HM) to lead the delivery and development of our Assistive Technology and Home Modifications services under the Support at Home AT-HM Scheme.

This is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the end-to-end AT-HM pathway, ensuring participants receive safe, appropriate and person-centred solutions that support their independence, goals and assessed needs.

About the Role

As the Manager – AT-HM, you will provide operational, clinical and strategic leadership across the service. You will oversee referrals, assessments, prescriptions, procurement, home modification projects, installation, participant education, follow-up, repairs, maintenance, documentation, funding and claiming.

You will work closely with participants, families, care partners, Occupational Therapists, allied health professionals, suppliers, builders, tradespeople and internal operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the organisation’s AT-HM service model and operational processes.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of Assistive Technology and Home Modification services.
  • Ensure AT-HM solutions align with participant goals, assessed needs, support plans and approved funding.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on AT-HM requirements.
  • Coordinate with Occupational Therapists and other allied health professionals regarding assessments and prescriptions.
  • Oversee the sourcing, procurement, delivery, installation and review of assistive technology.
  • Manage home modification projects from assessment and quotation through to completion and handover.
  • Coordinate suppliers, builders, tradespeople and other external service providers.
  • Monitor AT-HM budgets, expenditure, participant contributions and claiming requirements.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate supplier networks and procurement processes.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and evidence is maintained for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Lead clinical and professional governance processes relating to AT-HM.
  • Monitor incidents, complaints, risks and quality outcomes.
  • Conduct regular audits and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead, support and develop AT-HM staff and contribute to workforce planning.
  • Build strong relationships with participants, families, care partners, allied health professionals and external stakeholders.
  • Keep up to date with changes to the Support at Home Program, AT-HM Scheme requirements and relevant legislation.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in a management or senior leadership role within aged care, disability, community services, allied health or a related sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Assistive Technology and/or Home Modifications.
  • Understanding of the Support at Home Program and AT-HM Scheme.
  • Experience managing complex participant needs and service delivery.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk, quality and compliance.
  • Experience managing budgets, procurement and supplier relationships.
  • Strong project management skills, particularly relating to home modifications.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and developing a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A strong commitment to person-centred practice, participant choice, dignity and independence.

Qualifications & Experience

Relevant qualifications and experience in areas such as Occupational Therapy, Allied Health, Aged Care, Disability, Community Services, Health Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

Experience working with Occupational Therapists and other allied health professionals, AT suppliers, builders and tradespeople will also be highly regarded.
