2:1 Support | Landsborough

Are you an experienced Disability Support Worker looking for a role where you can build a genuine connection with a participant while working as part of a supportive 2:1 team?

We’re looking for an experienced Male Support Worker to support a participant living in Landsborough.

This is a 2:1 support environment, with two Support Workers providing support at all times. The role is suited to someone who is calm, resilient and confident supporting complex behaviours, while also enjoying an active and community-focused role.

What could your day look like?

This is an active support role where no two shifts are necessarily the same.

The participant enjoys music, singing and walking, and community access is an important part of her routine. You should be comfortable with long walks of 6km or more during shifts and be prepared to remain active throughout the day.

Swimming is also a regular activity, with Support Workers required to be comfortable getting in the water and swimming alongside the participant when supporting this activity.

The participant responds well to calm, patient communication and workers who take the time to understand her needs.

You’ll also provide support with daily routines, personal care, household tasks and community participation while helping to maintain a safe and supportive environment.

Shifts Available

  • 6:00am – 2:00pm
  • 2:00pm – 10:00pm
  • 2:00pm – 6:00am + sleepover ($140 allowance)
  • 10:00pm – 6:00am active/awake

A role where your experience matters

This is a high-support environment suited to experienced Support Workers who are confident, resilient and understand the importance of consistency.

You’ll work alongside another Support Worker as part of a 2:1 support team, with support from experienced Team Leaders and Case Managers.

A strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support Plans is important for this role.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has supported participants with mental health challenges, autism, intellectual impairments, trauma-related behaviours and self-harm tendencies.
  • Has experience supporting complex behaviours and using effective de-escalation strategies
  • Is confident following Behaviour Support Plans and Positive Behaviour Support strategies
  • Is comfortable supporting personal care and daily living activities
  • Is reliable and committed to providing consistent support
  • Works well as part of a 2:1 support team
  • Is comfortable with an active role involving long-distance walking
  • Is comfortable participating in swimming activities and entering the water
  • Is a calm and patient communicator
  • Is confident supporting community access and daily activities

Essential Requirements

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current Blue Card

  • NDIS Quality, Safety and You module
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • Previous experience supporting complex needs and behaviours of concern
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in challenging situations
  • Physically able to walk long distances and remain active throughout shifts
  • Comfortable entering the water and swimming when required
