The Centre for Women & Co. is seeking an experienced Embedded Practitioner to provide specialist domestic and family violence support at Queensland Police Service stations across Logan and Redlands. The position is available to start ASAP.

About the role

You will support people experiencing domestic and family violence who present to police stations, often at a point of crisis. Working alongside QPS officers, you will provide timely, trauma-informed and culturally responsive support while helping strengthen coordinated responses to victim-survivors.

Your work will include:

• Conducting risk assessments, safety planning and crisis interventions.
• Providing advocacy, referrals, case management and follow-up support.
• Working with QPS and partner agencies to support people with complex or high-risk needs.
• Helping clients and police communicate effectively and navigate barriers to support.
• Maintaining accurate case notes, assessments and program reports.

The role is based across QPS stations in the Logan and Redlands region. You will work 38 hours per week within operational hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

About you

You will bring:

• A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology or human services, together with relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of domestic and family violence, its impacts, and relevant Queensland legislation and sector responses.
• Experience in risk assessment, safety planning and trauma-informed support.
• The ability to build relationships with clients, police and other services while maintaining sound professional boundaries.
• Clear written communication and confidence working in a complex, fast-paced environment.

A postgraduate qualification in counselling or social work is desirable. You must hold and maintain a current Working with Children Blue Card and Queensland driver’s licence.

Salary and benefits

• SCHADS Level 5.1, full-time.
• Fixed-term contract until 30 June 2030.
• Optional salary packaging of up to $15,900 per FBT year, subject to applicable conditions.
