About us
Cancer Council NSW (CCNSW) is a community funded and focused not for profit. We are the largest cancer charity in NSW and our point of difference is that we work across every area of every cancer, from research right through to support.
At CCNSW we understand that nothing feels better than doing work you really care about. As Australia’s leading organisation supporting all people impacted by all cancers, we understand how good it feels to make a difference. We know that almost 1 in 2 Australians are affected by cancer during their lifetime, by joining the passionate team at CCNSW you’ll know that each day the work you’re doing will positively impact people in your life and Australia.
About the team/About the role:
The Cancer Prevention and Advocacy Division leads the organisation’s work in health promotion and cancer prevention helping Australians make well informed choices to decrease their risk of cancer; and to create a supportive environment where healthy choices are easier choices.
Smoking remains the leading cause of preventable death and disease in Australia and there are vast differences in smoking rates among different groups in our community. The Tobacco Control Unit works to reduce disparities in smoking prevalence between disadvantaged populations and the general population; reduce exposure to second-hand smoke; and control the supply of tobacco products, other nicotine delivery devices and any products that influence smoking.
As a Project Coordinator, Tobacco Cessation, you will coordinate the delivery of evidence-based tobacco and vaping cessation initiatives that improve health outcomes across NSW. Working with government, health and community partners, you will support programs that increase access to cessation support for populations disproportionately impacted by smoking and vaping. This role offers the opportunity to apply strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills to deliver strategic initiatives and innovative approaches that support smoking and vaping cessation.
Please note this is a Full-Time, 12-month maximum term contract.
