This role will ensure marketing activity is aligned with organisational strategy, brand positioning, audience priorities and business growth objectives, while supporting strong planning, delivery, reporting and optimisation across the Institute.

If you enjoy translating strategy into practical marketing plans, coordinating campaigns and content across multiple portfolios, and building productive relationships with stakeholders and specialist partners, we would love to hear from you.

ABOUT THE CAIRNMILLAR INSTITUTE

The Cairnmillar Institute is a not-for-profit provider of psychological services and higher education, with a 65-year history of supporting mental health and training the next generation of practitioners. We offer clinics, short courses, vocational training and accredited postgraduate programs in psychology, counselling and psychotherapy.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day management of the marketing function, including workflow, priorities, planning cycles, team rhythm and delivery oversight.
  • Translate organisational strategy into clear portfolio marketing strategies, practical plans, work programs and deliverables across all areas of the Institute.
  • Lead, coach and develop direct reports through regular feedback, guidance and professional development that builds capability and supports long-term success.
  • Oversee implementation of Cairnmillar’s brand positioning, messaging, tone, campaign standards and visual identity across internal and external touchpoints.
  • Coordinate campaigns, content and channel activity so they are audience-led, well prioritised and connected to enrolment, enquiry, engagement, reputation and growth objectives.
  • Coordinate external agencies, freelancers and specialist vendors to ensure scopes, timelines, approvals, deliverables and capability transfer are clear.
  • Maintain marketing processes, templates, request pathways, approvals and documentation that support quality, consistency and efficient delivery.
  • Use data, audience insights, stakeholder feedback and campaign performance to monitor impact and identify opportunities for optimisation and growth.

About You

You are a collaborative and commercially aware marketing professional who can bring structure, clarity and momentum to a busy marketing function. You are confident working across multiple stakeholders, portfolios and timelines, and can balance creativity, evidence, compliance and practical delivery. You bring strong judgement, excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.

You will bring:

  • A degree qualification in marketing, communications, business, digital media or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing marketing activity, campaigns, communications, digital channels or brand delivery in a complex organisation.
  • Strong understanding of brand management, audience-led marketing, content planning, campaign delivery and channel differentiation.
  • Ability to coordinate work across multiple portfolios, stakeholders and timelines while maintaining quality, consistency and clear priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy, stakeholder needs and business objectives into practical marketing plans, briefs and deliverables.
  • Experience using data, reporting and audience insights to monitor performance, support optimisation and inform marketing decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust, manage expectations and influence across functional areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear briefs, reports, recommendations and stakeholder updates.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in higher education, vocational education, health, mental health, not-for-profit or another regulated service environment.
  • Experience coordinating external agencies, freelancers, digital specialists, creative suppliers or marketing technology partners.
  • Familiarity with CRM, website, email marketing, analytics, paid media, SEO/AEO or marketing automation platforms.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification, professional certification or training in digital marketing, brand strategy, project management, analytics or marketing technology.
