ACCOUNTANT – FULL TIME

Salary: $80,000 per annum + superannuation

Employment Type: Full-time

The Breakthrough Office is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Accountant to join our Sydney team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the company’s financial reporting, accounting, budgeting and compliance functions.

Key Responsibilities::

  • Prepare financial statements, management accounts and periodic financial reports
  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial records
  • Prepare and review bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting
  • Monitor revenue, expenditure and overall financial performance
  • Prepare and assist with BAS, GST and other taxation-related reporting requirements
  • Analyse financial information and provide reports and recommendations to management
  • Review accounting processes and assist with maintaining appropriate internal financial controls
  • Ensure financial records and reporting comply with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with management, external accountants, auditors and other relevant stakeholders as required

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a closely related field
  • Relevant professional experience in an accounting role for minimum 2 years.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Experience with financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting and management reporting
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Competency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team
