Casual Seasonal Fire Fighter – Green Triangle

Technical Forest Services is building our casual fire fighting crew for the upcoming fire season in the Green Triangle region (Mount Gambier and surrounds).

No fire fighting ticket or experience needed — we provide full training — though prior fire fighting experience is highly regarded and will put you at the front of the queue. What we need most is people who are fit, reliable, and ready to work hard outdoors in tough conditions, often at short notice.

What you’ll be doing: Supporting our crew with fire prevention and preparedness work, responding to suppression callouts under the direction of our Crew Leaders, maintaining fire equipment and PPE, and pitching in on general field work between callouts.

What you’ll bring: Physical fitness and the ability to handle hot, smoky, physically demanding conditions; reliability and flexibility to be available on short notice during fire season, including weekends and public holidays; a current Class C licence; and a willingness to complete our training and induction program.

Preferred but not essential: prior CFS/DELWP/rural brigade experience, a Basic Firefighter ticket, or other fire fighting background — candidates with this experience will be prioritised.

This is casual, seasonal work paid under the Silviculture Award 2020.
