For over 50 years, Taldumande Youth Services has been a pillar of safety, stability, and hope for vulnerable young people across NSW.

We are looking for a confident, practical, and resilient Youth Worker to join our assertive Beach Reach program on a casual basis. Operating across Sydney’s Northern Beaches, this after-hours program meets young people where they naturally gather—providing calm, respectful support when they need it most.

• Shifts: Friday and Saturday evenings (approx. 5:00 PM to late).
• The Role: Partnering alongside another Outreach Worker, you’ll drive the Beach Reach van, navigate local hotspots, liaise with police, build instant rapport, and act as a steady, positive presence.

The Role Snapshot

• Type: Casual (Minimum commitment of 1 shift per week on either Friday or Saturday).

About You

• You stay grounded under pressure and can effortlessly engage young people in public spaces to build trust quickly.
• Bring around 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in youth work, youth justice, community services, casework, or a related field.
• Skilled in supporting vulnerable youth with complex needs and deeply understanding the challenges tied to the youth justice system.
• You connect easily and respectfully with young people, their families, and wider support networks.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum tertiary qualification of a Certificate IV in youth work or a related discipline (community services, teaching or mentoring)
• Current unrestricted NSW Driver Licence (and access to an insured vehicle).
• Current paid Working with Children Check and First Aid Certificate (or a willingness to obtain them before starting).
• Willingness to complete a National Police Clearance Check.
• Proven strengths in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and de-escalation.
