Summary:

The Human Resource Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting the HR functions within the transport and rail industry. Based in Bankstown, New South Wales, this contract position requires a dedicated professional to manage employee relations, recruitment, and compliance with HR policies. The successful candidate will contribute to fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring the organisation meets its strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, screening applications, and conducting interviews.
  • Support employee onboarding and orientation programmes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies.
  • Facilitate employee training and development initiatives to enhance workforce capabilities.
  • Address employee queries and concerns, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the performance management process, including appraisals and feedback mechanisms.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with business goals.
  • Support the organisation in maintaining a positive workplace culture and employee engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a human resources role, preferably within the transport or rail industry.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
