The Opportunity

This is a high-impact commercial role at the heart of our foodservice growth strategy.

As our Key Account Manager – HORECA Distributors, you’ll lead relationships across key distributor partners including Gilmours/Trents, Bidfood, Service Foods and Moore Wilson. You’ll be responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening distribution partnerships, expanding range, and ensuring operational excellence across the channel.

You won’t just manage accounts — you’ll build them. From negotiating commercial agreements and launching NPD to developing menu solutions and unlocking new business opportunities, this role is about creating sustainable growth across New Zealand’s hospitality sector.

What You’ll Do

Lead Key Customer & Distributor Relationships

  • Manage national multi-site groups and key distributor partnerships.
  • Own pricing, terms, and supply agreements.
  • Drive additional ranging and introduce NPD across portfolios.
  • Develop Limited Time Offers and collaborate on new menu solutions.
  • Conduct structured business reviews and align on growth plans.
  • Provide clear direction and objectives to the Sales Team to ensure execution excellence.

Drive New Business Growth

  • Identify and convert new business opportunities across HORECA sub-channels.
  • Develop target lists and strategic prospecting plans.
  • Build commercial proposals in partnership with distributors.
  • Conduct P&L analysis to ensure margin compliance.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements to deliver profitable growth.

Own Commercial & Financial Performance

  • Conduct P&L analysis on new business and tender proposals.
  • Review pricing and margins across key customers.
  • Analyse promotional activity to ensure strong ROI.
  • Prepare commercial tenders aligned with business objectives.

Forecasting & Operational Excellence

  • Provide accurate forecast updates to Demand Planning.
  • Manage promotional uplifts through internal systems.
  • Maintain accurate reporting through Opmetrix and end-of-month processes.
  • Champion health and safety standards across customer engagement.

About You

You’re relationship-focused but commercially tough. You understand the HORECA /Foodservice environment, know how distributors operate, and can confidently balance growth ambitions with margin discipline.

You enjoy solution selling, spotting opportunities others miss, and negotiating outcomes that deliver long-term value. You’re persistent, analytical, and driven by results.

You will bring:

  • Proven account management experience within HORECA/Foodservice.
  • Strong solution selling capability and business development skills.
  • Commercial and negotiation expertise.
  • Solid analytical capability.
  • Confident presentation and communication skills.
