Description

Customer Service & Logistics Coordinator

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Fortitude Valley, Brisbane

Orders. Customers. Freight. Forecasts. Problem solving.

If you’re the kind of person who likes keeping things moving, staying two steps ahead and making sure customers know exactly what’s happening, this could be a great role for you.

Stone Axe Pastoral Company is looking for a switched-on Customer Service & Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This isn’t a call-centre customer service role. You’ll sit right at the centre of our customer and supply chain operations, connecting customers with Sales, production, inventory, logistics providers and other teams to make sure orders get delivered.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day coordination behind our customer orders and deliveries, including:

  • Managing customer orders from receipt through to delivery
  • Preparing sales confirmations and keeping order information accurate
  • Keeping customers updated on order progress, ETDs, ETAs, delays and changes
  • Coordinating domestic and international freight across road, air and sea
  • Working with freight forwarders, carriers, cold-chain providers and customs brokers
  • Tracking shipments and getting on the front foot when something doesn’t go to plan
  • Coordinating shipping and delivery documentation
  • Supporting customer claims, feedback and service recovery
  • Collecting customer forecasts and helping turn them into useful demand-planning information
  • Working closely across Sales, production, inventory, finance and other parts of the business
  • Finding smarter, simpler ways to improve customer service and logistics processes

The role deals with perishable products, so timing, accuracy, communication and attention to detail genuinely matter.

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need to know everything on day one, but you do need to be someone who takes ownership, follows things through and communicates well.

You’ll ideally bring experience in one or more of:

  • Logistics or supply chain coordination
  • Customer service or customer order management
  • Domestic or international freight
  • FMCG, food, meat, agriculture, export or other time-sensitive products
  • Working with freight forwarders, carriers or cold-chain providers
  • Demand forecasting or supply planning

Experience with export documentation, customs, biosecurity or international trade would be a great bonus.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is:

  • Organised. Accurate. Responsive. Calm under pressure. And comfortable picking up the phone and getting things sorted.
  • Strong Excel and Outlook skills will help, along with the ability to quickly learn the systems we use.

Why this role?

This is a 12-month opportunity to step into a role with plenty of variety and genuine visibility across the customer and supply chain process.

You won’t be working in a silo. You’ll interact with customers, Sales, production, inventory, finance, freight providers and other specialists, giving you exposure to how the different pieces of the business come together.

If you enjoy solving problems, coordinating moving parts and delivering a great experience for customers, we’d love to hear from you.
