Position Overview

Steritech is seeking a number of full-time, maximum-term Plant Operators to support increased operational requirements during our busy season until 30th April 2027.

Day or night shift positions are available, working 12-hour shifts across a roster that includes every second weekend.

This is a varied, hands-on operational role supporting the safe receipt, movement, processing and dispatch of customer product. Your duties will include forklift operation, warehouse activities, product preparation, data entry, processing support and routine equipment and safety checks.

The role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality and following established procedures in a fast-paced operational environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Receiving customer product and completing quantity, condition and quality checks
  • Entering accurate product and processing information into the Warehouse Management System
  • Operating forklifts to unload, move, stage and load customer product
  • Preparing, labelling, securing and positioning loads for processing
  • Moving and monitoring product through designated warehouse and processing areas
  • Supporting routine plant and processing activities in accordance with established procedures
  • Retrieving samples and dosimeters and completing associated records where required
  • Preparing processed product, documentation and loads for dispatch
  • Completing scanning, data entry and general operational documentation
  • Performing forklift and equipment pre-starts and routine safety checks
  • Identifying and reporting product, equipment or operational issues
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and hazard-free work environment
  • Supporting shift handovers and working collaboratively with the wider Operations team

Key Requirements – About You

You will be a reliable and safety-focused operator who is comfortable working across a range of warehouse and operational duties. You will have practical forklift experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written procedures and complete records accurately.

You will communicate clearly, work positively as part of a team and be willing to learn Steritech’s specialised systems and processes. You must also be comfortable with manual handling, repetitive activities and spending extended periods on your feet.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics or regulated manufacturing environment
  • Current LF Forklift Licence and practical forklift experience
  • Current driver’s licence and/or reliable transport to and from the site
  • Availability to work 12-hour day or night shifts, including every second weekend
  • Physical capability to complete manual handling and active operational duties
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and accurate data-entry skills
  • Confidence learning and using warehouse, transport booking or other operational systems
  • Strong safety awareness, attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Current First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain it
  • Quarantine Approved certification, or the ability to obtain it

 

Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Completion of secondary education to VCE, VCAL or equivalent
  • Certificate III in Process Plant Operations, Plant Operations or a related field
  • Experience in sterilisation, biosecurity, GMP, medical device, healthcare or another regulated environment
