Sound Care Group is seeking to hire 1 Casual, Registered Nurse for our aged care facility Cambridge Life in Waikato who is able to start immediately.
To be successful for this position you must also have a NZ citizenship, permanent residency or a valid NZ work visa that does not require a job token. Candidates who are available to start immediately will be highly regarded.
About the Role:
As a Registered Nurse, you’ll be responsible for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating patient-centred care, ensuring its continuity, cultural sensitivity, and alignment with best practices. You’ll act as a key resource, providing expert advice on care plans, medication administration, and resident well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Care: Conduct InterRAI assessments, develop and oversee care plans, and ensure safe medication administration.
- Clinical Leadership: Supervise Enrolled Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Holistic Support: Participate in rounds with the GP, coordinate multidisciplinary input, and maintain accurate records.
- Emergency & Compliance: Respond to urgent situations, ensure adherence to infection control protocols, and facilitate quality improvement activities.
- Work Environment: Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming facility that supports resident dignity and comfort.
About You:
- Current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Strong clinical assessment and leadership skills
- Applicants must have at least one year of experience working in an aged care facility or a similar healthcare setting.
- Competence in electronic health records and documentation
- Commitment to resident-centered care, cultural sensitivity, and professional development
