The Role and The Challenge

We are seeking a top gun Principal Engineer to join our team and drive major business outcomes across a large portfolio of new enterprise initiatives.

If you are content with high level slide deck architecture and staying removed from execution, this is not the role for you. This position has true depth. You will bridge strategic architectural influence all the way down to hands on implementation. You will be fully accountable for running teams and driving their technical delivery directly within our client environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Delivery Leadership: Own accountability for multidisciplinary engineering teams and their delivery outcomes across major client initiatives, translating complex business problems into scalable technical execution.
• End to End Architecture: Design and build production grade origination and servicing experiences across the entire stack using TypeScript, Angular, and Node.js.
• Complex Ecosystem Integrations: Design and implement robust integrations across intricate technology stacks including workflow engines, core data masters, external decisioning services, e-signing platforms, and core backend services.
• High Performance Frontend and Servicing: Guide the delivery of responsive, secure user interfaces using modern Angular features and robust in-life servicing capabilities.
• Build and Transfer Execution: Execute structured architectural handovers, ensuring permanent client engineering staff can independently operate and maintain delivered systems through pairing, workshops, and comprehensive documentation.
• System Design and Production Operations: Own comprehensive system design, applying 12 factor app principles to ensure your software is robust, observable, and fully prepared to operate reliably in high scale production environments.
• Secure Development and Compliance: Architect solutions that adhere to strict security standards, industry standard schema compliance, and operational auditability across the product lifecycle.

What You Bring (Technically)

• Principal Level Experience: Proven commercial experience operating at a Principal or equivalent top tier technical leadership level within modern and high performing engineering environments.
• Full Stack TypeScript Mastery: Deep and hands on expertise writing production grade TypeScript on both the client and the server.
• Frontend Excellence: Mandatory and proven experience building complex, high performance single page applications using Angular.
• Backend and Integration Design: Extensive commercial experience building scalable backend services in Node.js and successfully integrating disparate third party services and workflow engines.
• System Design and Production Acumen: Deep understanding of modern system design and architectural patterns, with complete fluency in 12 factor app principles and production reliability.
• Tooling Fluency: A practical and delivery focused mindset on how to leverage modern AI tools to accelerate software engineering and team output.
