Are you a skilled and motivated Operations Coordinator looking for an exciting new opportunity?

Smart Environmental is seeking a dedicated team member to join our Rolleston-based team and support our mission to recycle tyres efficiently and responsibly.

Smart Environmental Limited works on behalf of local councils, businesses, and communities across New Zealand. Acquired by Blue Planet, our mission is to divert waste from landfill, and with a large fleet of collection vehicles and line haul operations, we are committed to driving sustainability for the communities and businesses we serve.

Key responsibilities: As part of the operations team, you will support the coordination and execution of tyre collection services to ensure efficient, compliant, and timely service delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the coordination of daily tyre collection routes and schedules
  • Communicating effectively with drivers and the operations team regarding route changes and updates
  • Assisting in monitoring collection progress and escalating any delays or issues to ensure minimal service disruption
  • Maintaining accurate records of collections, deliveries, and routes
  • Supporting compliance with transport regulations, company policies, and environmental standards
  • Contributing to efficient route execution to minimise delays, fuel usage, and operational costs

 

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in logistics, transport coordination, or operations support is advantageous
  • Understanding of route planning and operational efficiency principles
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with drivers, customers, and internal teams
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Attention to detail, particularly in maintaining accurate records and data
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and environmental standards
  • An understanding and knowledge on Excel is favourable
