Earthcare Environmental Ltd is seeking reliable and motivated Machine Operators to join our Material Recovery Facility (MRF) team based at the Refuse Transfer Station in Feilding.

Earthcare Environmental Ltd works on behalf of local councils, businesses, and communities, providing rubbish and recycling collection services. Acquired by Blue Planet, and with a large fleet of collection vehicles and line haul operations, our mission is to divert waste from landfill and create a cleaner, more sustainable future.

About the Role

This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our recycling facility. You’ll be operating machinery and helping sort and process recyclable materials while maintaining a safe worksite.

This hands-on casual on-call position offers the opportunity to work as required to support operational needs, including covering staff leave, peak periods, and additional workload demands. The role will keep you active throughout the day and provides the chance to work with a supportive team while making a positive impact in your local community.

Flexibility is essential, as hours may vary and can include weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to differentiate material types
  • Communicate effectively with internal staff
  • Sort and collate recyclable materials
  • Maintain a strong awareness of Health and Safety requirements
  • Assist with the safe and efficient operation of the recycling facility
  • Help maintain a clean and safe work environment

About You

  • Holds a New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence or equivalent
  • Forklift endorsement is advantageous
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong hand-eye coordination
  • Reliable, motivated, and safety-focused
  • Able to work flexibly and at short notice when required
