Turkish-Speaking Care Worker | Casual | Southeast Melbourne

About the Role

Sensible Care is looking for a Turkish- and English-speaking Casual Care Worker to provide personalised care and support to a client in Southeast Melbourne.

Turkish language skills are essential for this role, as the successful candidate will communicate with and support the client in Turkish. Good English communication skills are also required to communicate with the client, family members, and the Sensible Care team and to complete required documentation.

This is a great opportunity for someone with Personal Care Assistance or Domestic Assistance experience who is compassionate, reliable, and enjoys making a positive difference in a client’s day.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist the client with personal care and daily living activities, as required
• Communicate with and support the client in Turkish
• Communicate clearly in English with the client, family members, and care team
• Provide Domestic Assistance and help with household tasks
• Assist with meal preparation and everyday routines
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Build a positive, respectful, and trusting relationship with the client
• Follow the client’s care plan and individual support requirements
• Observe and report any changes in the client’s needs or wellbeing
• Complete required care documentation
• Communicate with family members and the Sensible Care team as needed
• Follow health, safety, and infection-control requirements

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Speaks Turkish fluently or is highly proficient in Turkish
• Has good English communication skills
• Has previous experience providing Personal Care Assistance — preferred
• Domestic Assistance experience is also welcome
• Has an Individual Support or Aged Care qualification — preferred
• A nursing background is also highly regarded
• Is compassionate, patient, reliable, and respectful
• Has good communication and interpersonal skills
• Is comfortable working in a client’s home
• Is available on weekdays between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, with morning availability preferred
• Holds a current Australian driver’s licence
• Has comprehensive car insurance and access to a reliable vehicle
