Assistant Accountant – Revenue & Payables

0.5 – 0.6 FTE | Osborne Park

We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant – Revenue & Payables to join our Finance team (0.5-0.6 FTE).

This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys a mix of accounts receivable, accounts payable, month-end processing and stakeholder support. Working closely with the Finance team, you will help ensure accurate financial reporting, timely customer billing, effective debtor management and the smooth delivery of finance services across the organisation.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Finance, you will play a key role in maintaining high-quality financial information and supporting the organisation’s financial operations. Your focus will include revenue processing, accounts receivable and payable activities, reconciliations, month-end reporting support and providing exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support customer billing and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Allocate debtor payments and maintain the debtor ledger.
  • Assist with month-end reporting, accruals, journals and account reconciliations.
  • Support accounts payable processing and supplier payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and assist with cash flow reporting.
  • Process donations, bequests and ad hoc billings.
  • Monitor client invoice cancellations and rejected services to ensure accurate charging.
  • Respond to finance-related enquiries from employees, customers and suppliers.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and improving finance processes.
  • Contribute to the delivery of quality financial services and reporting outcomes.

About You

You will be a proactive and collaborative finance professional who enjoys working in a team environment while also taking ownership of your work.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce.
  • CPA or CA qualified (or working towards qualification) highly regarded.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Desirable Experience
  • 2+ years’ accounting experience.
  • Experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Receivable or similar finance role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
  • Experience within the disability, community services or not-for-profit sector.
