Role Description
We are seeking a technically strong Intermediate Accountant to join our team in a full-time contractor capacity (38 hours per week).
The Intermediate Accountant supports the delivery of accounting and financial reporting services for Australian clients. Working alongside the bookkeeping team and Accounting Managers, this role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing month-end reports, responding to client enquiries, and supporting the delivery of high-quality accounting services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support preparation of monthly management reports.
- Review and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with month-end accounting procedures.
- Reconcile balance sheet and key accounts.
- Process accounts payable.
- Complete BAS and payroll tax lodgements.
- Prepare year-end working papers for review.
- Respond to client accounting enquiries.
- Assist Accounting Managers with client deliverables.
- Work collaboratively with the bookkeeping team.
- Maintain client records within Xero, Dext and associated cloud accounting systems.
- Perform ASIC corporate secretarial tasks where required.
This position requires availability from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM AEST, with the ability to commence within 2 weeks. This is an exclusive contractor engagement (no other employment permitted). Contractors must provide their own computer and dedicated workspace.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ Australian public practice experience.
- CA or CPA qualified (or currently studying).
- Latest Xero certification.
- Experience using Xero, Dext and associated cloud accounting platforms.
- Experience using BGL CAS360 or other ASIC corporate secretarial software.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience supporting multiple clients simultaneously.
