We are looking for a STEPA (Wills and Estates) Legal Secretary or Graduate to join our Rockhampton team – someone who takes pride in their work, notices the little things and enjoys being part of a supportive, down-to-earth workplace.

Your Role

Your days will be varied and practical, including:

  • Provide confident secretarial support and take ownership of delegated tasks
  • Prepare and amend Wills, Testamentary Trusts, EPOAs (Enduring Power of Attorney), and Probate
  • Assist with estate administration, succession planning, trusts, partnerships and related party transfers
  • Manage matters from opening through to completion, including key dates, VOI (Verification of Identity), file management and document preparation
  • Prepare cost disclosures, billing documentation and assist with trust and debtor management
  • Coordinate appointments, client sign-ups and execution of documents
  • Liaise with clients, beneficiaries, executors and third parties with professionalism and care
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical records, using precedents correctly
  • Assist with enquiries, client onboarding and the smooth flow of matters
  • Complete file closure processes
  • Participate in team meetings, training and wider firm initiatives

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Legal secretarial or legal administration experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
  • A calm, organised approach when things get busy
  • Strong communication and client service skills
  • Confidence with technology and electronic document management systems
  • A genuine willingness to help and be part of a team
