Red Centre Support Services (RCSS) is seeking committed Youth Workers to support children and young people living in residential care.

We are looking for people who want to build lasting professional relationships, contribute to a consistent care team and make a positive difference through everyday support.

About the role

As a Youth Worker, you will help provide a safe, stable and supportive home environment for young people who have experienced challenges in their lives.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building trusting relationships through consistent, respectful care.
• Supporting daily routines, personal development and independent living skills.
• Assisting with meals, household tasks, appointments and transport.
• Encouraging participation in education, recreation and community activities.
• Supporting emotional regulation and responding appropriately to challenging behaviours.
• Following individual support plans and maintaining professional boundaries.
• Completing accurate records, shift notes and incident reports.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and management to provide consistent care.

The role requires patience, resilience and a willingness to remain calm and engaged when situations become challenging.

About you

We are seeking reliable people who understand that consistency matters in the lives of young people.

You will bring:

• A relevant qualification that meets Queensland residential care requirements, or enrolment in a recognised qualification.
• Relevant experience in youth work, residential care, community services, education or another related field.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Sound judgement, professional boundaries and a commitment to child safety.
• A willingness to work a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays and sleepovers.
• A current driver licence and the ability to transport young people safely.
• The right to work in Australia.

Appointment is subject to the applicable Blue Card, satisfactory Child Safety and Personal History Screening (LCS2), reference checks and completion of mandatory training.
