The role

The Solution Architect defines secure, scalable and supportable solutions that connect business needs with enterprise architecture and delivery constraints. The role provides technical leadership from discovery through implementation and assures alignment across teams and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business, functional and non-functional requirements into end-to-end solution architecture.
• Develop architecture options, recommendations, diagrams, integration patterns and decision records.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise standards, security controls, data obligations and government requirements.
• Lead technical workshops and communicate complex design decisions to varied audiences.
• Guide delivery teams, review technical outputs and manage architectural risks and dependencies.
• Balance user needs, delivery speed, cost, operability, reuse and technical debt.
• Support estimates, proposals, technology evaluation and transition into operations.

What you will bring

• Extensive experience designing and assuring complex enterprise or government technology solutions.
• Strong knowledge of integration, cloud, data, identity, security, infrastructure and application architecture concepts.
• Ability to produce clear architecture artefacts and influence both executives and technical specialists.
• Relevant cloud, platform or architecture certification such as TOGAF is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Sound judgement, initiative and the ability to manage competing priorities in a changing environment.
• A collaborative, respectful approach and willingness to support work beyond immediate responsibilities when needed.
• Commitment to quality, confidentiality, security, workplace policies and client compliance requirements.
• Curiosity about emerging technology and openness to using approved AI tools responsibly to improve outcomes.
