Real World Technology Solutions is a Sydney-based managed IT services provider. We look after businesses across SMB, enterprise, not-for-profit, and government — covering everything from day-to-day IT support through to complex infrastructure, cloud, and communications projects.
We’re a small team that punches above our weight. Our people get exposure to a wide range of environments and clients, access to senior engineers, and the chance to do work that actually matters to the businesses we support.
Summary:
We’re not looking for someone who knows everything. We’re looking for someone who figures things out. Our support team works across a wide range of client environments — Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, cloud, and more. Some days you’ll know exactly what to do. Others you’ll hit something new. What we care about is whether you dig in, use the tools and resources available to you, and get the client back up and running.
Our remote team handles a lot of the day-to-day remote work. This role sits in Sydney — which means you’re the person who goes on-site, builds the client relationship, and handles the problems that need someone physically in the room.
What you’ll do
- Provide support across phone, email, and remote desktop — and travel to client sites when the job needs it
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues through to resolution
- Install and configure workstations, printers, network equipment, and business applications
- Work alongside our offshore team, handing off and picking up work cleanly
- Keep documentation accurate — good notes help everyone, including you next time
- Know when you can push through solo and when to pull in another set of eyes
What you’ll bring
There’s no checklist that perfectly describes the right person. But here’s what we’re looking for:
You figure things out. Google, documentation, a colleague, a vendor, an AI tool — you use whatever’s in front of you and you don’t stop at “I don’t know.”
You’re good with people. Clients are often frustrated when you arrive. You’re calm, clear, and leave them feeling like someone actually helped them.
You know your way around Windows. Microsoft 365, Active Directory, basic networking — you’re comfortable there. There is some Linux and macOS – but these skills can be taught. Everything else we can work with.
You hold a valid driver’s licence. On-site visits are a real part of this job.
A degree is fine. Certifications are fine. Two years of getting your hands dirty and working things out is just as good.
What working here looks like
- A mix of remote, office, and on-site days depending on what clients need that week
- A small team where your work is noticed and your growth is taken seriously
- Clients across SMB, not-for-profit, enterprise, and government — genuine variety
- Senior engineers you can actually talk to when something’s outside your experience
