Mine Surveyor
The Mine Surveyor – Open Pit is a key member of the Mining Department, responsible for ensuring accurate surveying and data collection to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining operations. Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, the role provides essential survey control, mine design support, and production data for daily operations and end-of-month reporting. The position involves liaising with mine planning engineers, pit supervisors, geologists, and other mining personnel to deliver timely mine plans, monitor compliance against designs, and contribute to safe and productive mining outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver accurate and timely survey control, pickups and set-outs
- Support mine planning, production and compliance activities
- Generate mine plans and contribute to end-of-month reconciliation
- Work closely with Mine Planning, Geology and Operations teams
- Utilise modern survey and mining technologies including GPS, UAV and 3D scanning
About You:
- Degree or Advanced Diploma in Surveying (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in open pit mining (civil background considered)
- Valid C Class Manual Driver’s Licence
- Strong safety focus and commitment to site standards
- Experience with Leica GPS/Total Stations (advantageous)
- Experience with Surpac, Deswik and Pix4D (advantageous)
- UAV licence and Hexagon Mine Operate experience (highly regarded)
