About the Role
We are seeking a Solar Project Engineer to join our Solar team, working across renewable energy projects including commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar PV projects.
This is a hands-on project engineering role where you will support the design, delivery, construction, testing, and commissioning of solar projects from early-stage design through to project completion.
You will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality solar solutions are delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and delivery of solar PV projects across commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications.
- Develop and review electrical designs, including SLDs, layouts, schematics, cable schedules, and system configurations.
- Perform system modelling, load calculations, cable sizing, energy yield assessments, and performance optimisation.
- Support projects through the full lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Provide technical support during procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients to resolve technical issues and support project delivery.
- Ensure designs and project activities comply with Australian Standards, grid connection requirements, client specifications, and WHS requirements.
- Support QA/QC processes, including inspections, testing, documentation, defect close-out, and handover requirements.
- Identify practical design improvements, efficiencies, and value engineering opportunities.
