The Role
Level Up Your Career Are you a qualified Fitter & Turner or Diesel Mechanic with a strong work ethic and a desire to specialize? We are looking for motivated
tradespeople to join our Cairns team. You don’t need to be a hydraulic expert yet—we will provide the internal training and development to elevate your skills to the next level.
Enjoy the stability of a local Cairns base, combined with
the excitement of traveling to diverse domestic mine sites across Australia. For those interested, there are also opportunities to travel internationally to sites in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Key Responsibilities
Working both in our Cairns workshop and on client sites, you will:
- learn and execute the manufacturing, repair, inspection, commissioning, and troubleshooting of various hydraulic components.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install hydraulic systems to industry standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on fluid power equipment.
- Conduct inspections and testing to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Assist in the commissioning of hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service reports.
- Travel to exciting domestic sites to deliver on-the-ground technical support (with optional opportunities for international travel to PNG).
Qualifications & Experience
We are hiring for attitude, foundational skills, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications: Engineering Tradesperson Mechanical (Fitting/Turning), Heavy Vehicle / Mobile Plant Mechanic (Diesel Fitter/Mechanic), or equivalent Australian Trade Qualification.

The Right Attitude: A stellar work ethic, reliability, and a genuine eagerness to learn and master hydraulic systems.

Core Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.

Communication: Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work effectively in workshops and on remote sites.

Requirements: A valid Australian driver’s license and the flexibility/availability to travel to various domestic mine sites as required.
- Bonus (but not essential): Any prior exposure to fluid power or hydraulic systems or holding a valid passport for optional international site work, is highly regarded.
