At Polperro, we don’t just serve food and wine , we craft experiences grounded in genuine connection, thoughtful detail, and a deep love of the land. Our wine-focused venue is home to a Chef’s Hat-awarded restaurant, an intimate cellar door, and an ever-evolving farm-to-table philosophy rooted in our biodynamic vineyard and kitchen garden.
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate hospitality professional who brings both knowledge and heart to the table. Someone with a strong understanding of wine (ideally WSET Level 3 or equivalent), a confident presence on the floor, and a genuine desire to elevate every guest interaction — whether that’s over a tasting flight in the cellar door or guiding a perfectly matched pour in our dining room.
This is a dynamic, hands-on role across several touchpoints:
- Hosting guests in our Chef’s Hat restaurant as a senior section waiter
- Assisting or leading in the cellar door with wine tastings and sales
- Taking on sommelier responsibilities during key evening shifts
About the role:
- Permanent casual position, approx. 4–6 shifts per week
- Must be available weekends and one evening shift (Friday or Saturday)
- Venue operates Wednesday to Sunday, daytime and one evening service
What we’re looking for:
- Proven hospitality experience in premium dining or winery environments
- Confident wine knowledge — WSET Level 3 or equivalent preferred
- A warm, professional manner with guests and team members alike
- Flexibility to work across floor, cellar door, and wine service as needed
- A genuine appreciation for quality food, wine, and the stories behind them
