The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) is seeking experienced prescribers to support delivery of its pharmacist prescribing programs on a casual basis.

These programs are designed to equip pharmacists with the necessary skills and knowledge required for the safe and therapeutically appropriate management of specific clinical conditions and prescribing of medicines.

We are seeking both trainers (tutorials/workshops) and assessors (competency-based assessment activities).

This expression of interest will be used to establish a pool of suitable candidates who may be engaged on a casual basis as required for program delivery. Location is flexible.

Casual positions will be a blend of online and in-person training and assessment.

The roles

Trainers

  • Lead case-based, interactive tutorials (primarily online, often after-hours)
  • Support in-person Clinical Practical Skills Workshops, including physical examination techniques and formative assessments
  • Guide learner development through discussion, role play, and feedback

Assessors

  • Conduct and/or support competency-based assessments, including OSCEs
  • Assess learner performance against defined criteria and standards
  • Provide structured, objective, and consistent feedback
  • Participate in assessment calibration and standardisation activities

Trainers and assessors may contribute across one or both programs depending on experience and qualifications.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking healthcare professionals who:

  • Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Hold current prescribing rights or have recent prescribing experience
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years of prescribing experience
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and confidence in prescribing practice.
  • Have experience (or strong interest) in teaching, facilitation, or clinical supervision

Additional requirements for RTO-aligned delivery

The following are required or highly desirable:

  • A TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor, Assessor Skill Set, or other relevant vocational education and training assessor credential, or willingness to obtain
  • Experience in competency-based assessment within an RTO or higher education environment
  • Ability to assess against structured criteria and maintain consistency across cohorts
