About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
The Accounts Assistant will provide day-to-day financial and administrative support across the organisation, assisting with accounts payable, reconciliations, invoicing, inter-company transactions, payroll support and consumer statements.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and broader Finance team, you will help ensure financial transactions are accurate, timely and appropriately recorded across our businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support to the Accounts and Finance team
- Process and manage supplier, client and third-party vendor obligations
- Reconcile supplier statements and financial accounts
- Prepare, issue and maintain invoices
- Manage inter-company transactions and reconciliations
- Assist with payroll processing and related tasks
- Prepare and issue accurate and timely consumer statements
- Respond to finance-related enquiries from clients, suppliers and employees
- Assist with audits and financial reviews
- Identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accounting databases, records and spreadsheets
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements
- Support the Finance Manager with financial processes and reporting
- Assist with improving finance procedures and processes
- Undertake ad hoc finance duties and projects as required
About You
You will be a detail-oriented and organised finance professional who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar finance role
- Certificate IV in Bookkeeping and/or Diploma in Accounting
- Hands-on experience with accounting software, preferably Xero
- Experience with accounts payable, invoicing and reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Experience working across multiple entities or within healthcare, aged care, NDIS or another service-based organisation will be highly regarded.
